Set within a landscape surrounded by towering Tingle forests and rare Red-Flowering gum woodlands, A Tale of Two Trees found a natural home at Petrichor Gallery. The works resonated in the space because the imagery echoed the living giants outside the gallery walls, creating a dialogue between the fragility of representation and the enduring presence of these ancient trees in the southern forests.
In the lead up to the exhibition, a symposium was held on National Tree Day in March 2023. Insights gleaned from expert presentations helped shape the research and creative process of the project, as well as build networks and strengthen community collaborations.
