Inspired by the Red-Flowering Gum (Corymbia ficifolia, yorgum) naturally found within the Walpole Wilderness. While globally recognised for its glorious blossoms of red, pink and orange shades only small populations survive in the wild.
Following the drought of 2023-2024 and the current long hot summer, they are not blossoming in the wild this year. Some populations were impacted by wildfire, others responding to drying conditions. Perhaps taking time to breathe between stresses.
